The Valeja Anela rain lid is machined from aluminium and anodised. Its rain falls onto the stove as a beautiful ring, like a pillar of water built by the ancient Romans.

The rain lid comes in two sizes: small for the Sadekauha, large for the Mestari and Pitkä Mestari. Choose the lid that fits your ladle.

How does the rain lid work?
The Anela rain lid, machined from aluminium, spreads the water over the stove in a controlled, even way. It works through precise geometry: holes of 2.1 mm (23 in the small lid, 42 in the large) turn the flow into an even rain. That is why every pour is predictable and the löyly soft and lingering.

Precise flow, softer löyly
The Valeja rain ladle works by releasing water in a controlled way. When you lift your thumb off the air hole in the handle, air enters the ladle and the water flows out through the rain lid. The 23 precisely sized holes (Ø 2.1 mm) of the small Anela lid break the surface tension and turn the water into an even rain. The large Anela lid has 42 holes.

Because the water does not hit the stove as one large splash, it has time to evaporate evenly on the stones. This changes the character of the löyly: instead of a sudden, sharp heat, the sauna fills with even, long-lasting and soft warmth.

Built to last
Valeja is made from high-quality, durable materials. The cup and shaft are stainless steel, powder coated matte black, and the handle is Finnish birch. The Anela rain lid is machined from aluminium, which keeps the hole geometry precise. Any limescale on the lid can be removed by rinsing it regularly with water or, if needed, with a mild vinegar solution.
