Privacy policy

Updated 11 October 2026. This privacy policy explains how we process your personal data when you shop at the valeja.eu online store, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us.

2. What data we process

  • Order and customer data: name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address, products ordered, order history and any engraving text.
  • Payment data: payment method and payment status. We do not see or store card details; the payment provider processes them.
  • Messages: messages you send us by email or through the contact form.
  • Newsletter: your email address and which messages you have received and opened.
  • Reviews: your name or nickname, rating, text and any photos, if you leave a review.
  • Browsing data: IP address, device and browser information, and how you use the website. Some of this is collected with cookies (section 4).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Delivering orders and customer service (order, payment, delivery, returns, warranty and servicing). Legal basis: our contract with you.
  • Accounting and other legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
  • Newsletter and marketing emails. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the link at the end of each email.
  • Review requests after a purchase, improving our service and website, and preventing misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
  • Analytics and ad targeting with cookies. Legal basis: your consent to cookies.

4. Cookies and tracking

Necessary cookies keep the cart and checkout working. We use analytics and marketing cookies (for example Google, Meta and TikTok) only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings at the bottom of the website or by clearing your browser cookies.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

  • Shopify: e-commerce platform.
  • Shopify Payments and Paytrail Oyj, together with the provider of your chosen payment method: payment processing.
  • Carriers (for example Posti, Matkahuolto, DB Schenker, UPS, DHL and PostNord): deliveries and returns.
  • Klaviyo: order and newsletter emails.
  • Judge.me: customer reviews.
  • Google, Meta and TikTok: analytics and advertising, if you have accepted cookies.
  • Our accounting firm: bookkeeping.

We may also disclose data to authorities where required by law.

6. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Some service providers (for example Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta and TikTok) may process data outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers are based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or on the Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep data

  • Order and payment data: six years from the end of the year in which the financial year ended, as required by the Finnish Accounting Act.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Customer service messages: as long as needed to handle the matter or for the warranty period, and no longer than three years after your last contact.
  • Reviews: as long as they are published, or until you ask us to remove them.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data and to ask for it to be corrected or erased, or for its processing to be restricted. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest and to direct marketing, withdraw your consent and receive the data you have given us in a portable format. Send your request to support@valeja.eu. We will reply within one month.

9. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data breaches data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The current version and its date are always shown on this page.
