Shipping policy

Delivery area

We deliver to Finland and the other countries of the European Union, as well as to Switzerland, the Åland Islands, Svalbard, the United States, Canada, Japan and Norway, and to most other countries. We do not ship to countries where EU sanctions prohibit exports. At checkout you will see the shipping methods and prices for your address before you confirm your order.

Shipping methods

The available shipping methods depend on the delivery address and the contents of your order, and are shown at checkout before payment. Carriers we use include DB Schenker, UPS, DHL, Posti and PostNord. If the chosen method is not available, we may use an equivalent carrier.

Delivery times

Orders placed before 12:00 (Finnish time) usually ship the same working day. If the product page shows a next-batch date, your order ships by that date at the latest. The delivery times below count from the day your order ships. Typical delivery times:

  • Finland: 1–3 working days
  • Rest of the EU and the Åland Islands: 3–8 working days (Cyprus and Malta 5–8 working days)
  • Switzerland, Norway, the United Kingdom, Iceland and Svalbard: 4–8 working days
  • United States and Canada: about 6 working days
  • Japan: about 4–6 working days
  • Other countries: about 6–10 working days, depending on customs clearance

Delivery times are estimates. They may be longer during peak seasons, because of customs clearance, carrier congestion or force majeure. We will let you know by email if your order is delayed.

Shipping costs

  • Finland: orders over €100 ship free to a Matkahuolto pickup point; home delivery costs €12.90. For smaller orders the pickup-point price depends on the shipping method and is shown at checkout before payment.
  • Rest of the EU and the Åland Islands: shipping is free on orders over €100, otherwise €9.90. Faster UPS Standard delivery (2–4 business days) costs €13; it is not available to Cyprus, Malta or the Åland Islands.
  • United Kingdom, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Svalbard: €29 per order.
  • Norway: flat shipping of NOK 299 per order, Norwegian VAT included.
  • United States: flat shipping of $39 per order.
  • Canada: flat shipping of C$49 per order.
  • Japan: flat shipping of ¥5,900 per order.
  • Other countries: Posti Priority, tracked: €59 for orders up to 2.2 kg (usually one ladle), €89 for 2.2–4.4 kg and €119 above that.

Taxes and duties

  • Finland and rest of the EU: prices include VAT. Nothing extra is charged on delivery.
  • The Åland Islands: prices do not include Åland import VAT. VAT and the carrier's handling fee are collected from the recipient on delivery. No customs duty is charged.
  • Svalbard: no VAT or customs duty is charged in Svalbard, so nothing extra is charged on delivery.
  • Norway: prices include Norwegian VAT (MVA 25 %), collected at checkout under the VOEC scheme (VOEC number 3058301). Nothing extra is charged on delivery, and no customs duty applies.
  • United States: prices include customs duties and import fees. We pay them for you, so nothing extra is charged on delivery.
  • Canada: prices do not include Canadian taxes. GST/HST and the carrier's handling fee are collected from the recipient on delivery. No customs duty is charged, as our products are of EU origin (EU–Canada trade agreement, CETA).
  • Japan: prices do not include Japanese consumption tax. Consumption tax and Japan Post's handling fee (¥200) are collected from the recipient on delivery. No customs duty is charged (EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement).
  • Other countries: prices do not include import duties, taxes or carrier handling fees of the destination country. These are paid by the recipient according to local rules, usually on delivery. If a parcel is refused or not collected, we may deduct the shipping and return costs from the refund.

Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a tracking link by email.

Uncollected parcels

If a parcel is not collected and is returned to us, we refund the payment. We may deduct the cost of shipping the parcel and of its return transport. This does not apply to returns under our refund policy, which are free of charge within the EU.

Damage and delivery problems

If your parcel has been damaged in transit or there is an error in your order, please contact us as soon as possible at support@valeja.eu and we will put it right.
